A Brief Tutorial on How to Pray the Rosary
Even though the word "Rosary" has colloquially come to refer to the beads themselves, it actually is meant to refer to the collection of prayers that the beads assist in reciting! Over the years, there have come to be many variants on praying the Rosary, and while none of these different ways are right or wrong, the most basic, traditional method might look something like this:
- While holding the cross, make the sign of the cross and say the Apostle's Creed.
 - On the first bead, say the Our Father prayer (The Lord's Prayer).
 - On each of the next 3 beads, pray the Hail Mary.
 - On the last bead of the short strand, say the Glory Be.
 - Before the first 10 beads on the long strand, meditate on the first mystery and say the Our Father.
- NOTE: which mysteries you meditate on are decided by the days of the week: Monday & Saturday: Joyful Mysteries, Tuesday & Friday: Sorrowful Mysteries, Wednesday & Sunday: Glorious Mysteries, Thursday: Luminous Mysteries

 - On each of the next 10 beads say the Hail Mary.
 - In the space between the next bead, say the Glory be and the Fatima Prayer.
 - Repeat steps 5-7 all the way back to the center medallion, meditating on the next subsequent mystery each time.
 - When you once again reach the center medallion, say the Hail Holy Queen prayer, and then complete your prayer of the Rosary by saying "In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen."

That's it! You have now completed praying the Rosary. Depending on experience and meditation times, this process usually takes roughly 10-20 minutes. However, it is not uncommon to add or substitute prayers in the Rosary, such as the Salve Regina, the Loreto Litany, the Miraculous Medal Prayer, the Fatima Ave refrain, the Eucharistic Prayer, the Blessed Sacrament, the Prayer to Saint Michael, and many more! As long as the Lord knows your heart, there is no incorrect way to pray the Rosary.
